Tuned engines generate more heat. Your cooling system must be in top shape:
Check coolant levels and condition (should be free of rust or oil contamination)
No leaks around the radiator, thermostat housing, or expansion tank
For turbocharged cars, inspect your intercooler for oil residue or boost leaks
Fans and water pump should function correctly
If you're going for a Stage 2 or 3 tune, we often recommend uprated intercoolers, especially on Fords and VWs where charge temps climb fast under load.
